Elizabeth Mather

Elizabeth was born in 1821 in Newchurch in Rossendale and her baptism took place there on February 25th, 1821.¹²

Elizabeth's father was Edmund Mather and her mother was Frances (Fanny) Holt. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Peggy Duerden. She had two brothers and a sister, named Edmund, James and Alice. She was the oldest of the four children.

  28 April 1844, Henry Taylor a wool sorter married Elizabeth Mather, daughter of Edmund Mather a dyer at St Nicholas, Newchurch in Rossendale. Both were living at Fall Barn.
  
  In 1851, Henry and Elizabeth Taylor (33 & 30) were at Rossendale, Haslingden with Elizabeth Ann (2).
