Edwin Mather

Edwin was born in 1832 in Little Hulton and his baptism took place on March 4th, 1832 at St. Mary (Ellenbrook).^1 2

Edwin's father was William Mather and his mother was Martha Tyldesley.  His paternal grandparents were Ellis Mather and Ann Thornley; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Tildsey and Martha Mort. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Matthew, John, Samuel, Ann and Alice.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 75 in June 1907 in Barton upon Irwell.³
