Collinge Mather

Collinge was born in January 1814 in Middleton and his baptism took place on January 23rd, 1814 at St. Leonard (Middleton).¹

Collinge's father was John Mather and his mother was Sally Tong.  His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Alice Collinge. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Ashton, Charles, Henry, Betty, Rachel, Lucy and Sarah.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 74 in December 1888 in Prestwich.²
