Charles Mather

Charles' father was John Mather and his mother was Sally Tong.  His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Alice Collinge. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Ashton, Collinge, Henry, Betty, Rachel, Lucy and Sarah.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.

‌Charles and Martha were married in a religious ceremony on October 9th, 1837 in Mottram in Longdendale.²   They had a son named Ashton.

‌Charles and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony in 1853 in Ashton-under-Lyne.³
