Alice was born in 1801 in Eccles and her baptism took place there on June 28th, 1801.1  Alice's father was Ellis (Elias) Mather and her mother was Alice Eccles. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Robert, Elias, James, Ann, Sarah, Alice and Ann.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  She died about 1802 in Eccles.
