Ellis and Alice were from Barton (upon Irwell) untill 1796, then Winton. Probable brother James Mather of Barton had a son Ellis buried at Eccles 1 Jan 1794.
10 Apr 1792, Ellis, married to Alice was from Winton. There is another Ellis, possibly his father, married to Rachel from Worsley (they had Ann in 1771)
His first wife Ann may have died. There is another marriage: 7 Apr 1783, Elias Mather married Ann Thornley at Eccles.
