Alice was born in 1811 in Withnell and her baptism took place on April 28th, 1811 in Brindle.¹

Birth Notes

Alice's father was Jonathan Mather and her mother was Catherine Fielding. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Esther Mason. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Thomas, John, Martha and Esther. She was the second oldest of the six known children. She had three half-sisters named Sarah, Catherine and Sarah.
