Alice Mather

Alice was born in 1824 in Edgworth and her baptism took place on July 1st, 1824 in Turton.^1 2

Alice's father was Isaac Mather and her mother was Sarah Jackson.  Henry Warburton and Mary (Mercy) Mather were her grandparents through her father's adoption. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Peter, Jacob, Ann, Peggy, Jane and Reuben.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 46 in June 1870 in Bury.³

‌Alice and William were married in a religious ceremony on April 8th, 1844 at St. Peter's (Bolton) witnessed by Joseph Mather & James Booth.⁴
