Ann was born in 1817 in Edgworth and her christening took place on January 1st, 1817 in Bolton conducted by Curate Thomas Brocklebank.1 2  Ann's father was (Ann) Mather and her mother was Sarah Jackson.  Henry Warburton and Mary (Mercy) Mather were her grandparents through her father's adoption. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Peter, Jacob, Peggy, Alice, Jane and Reuben.  She was the oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 77 in September 1894 in Edgworth.3

‌Ann and John were married in a religious ceremony on July 29th, 1838 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2   They had three sons and three daughters, named Joseph, James, Francis, Sarah, Mary and Sarah.  There are no more children.
