Alice's father was Richard Madther and her mother was Betty Siddal.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Betty (Elizabeth) Ripson. She had seven brothers named Martin, North, Jesse, Haide, Hardy, Samuel and Hardy.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  She died as an infant at 9 months old in April 1790 in Radcliffe.  She was buried on April 28th, 1790 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).²
