Jessie was born on December 1st, 1875 in Bangor-Is-coed (on-Dee).1  Jessie's father was Samuel Lewis and her mother was Mary Ann Huxley.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Lewis and Mary Mullock. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Albert, Samuel, Frederick, Frances, Minnie, Georgina, Margaret, Beatrice, Mary and Ruth.  She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 75 in 1950.

‌Jessie and Robert were married in a religious ceremony in September 1904 in Wrexham.2  They had two sons and two daughters, named Frederick, Robert, Adeline and Hilda.
