1877 13 July: Administration of the effects of Mary Lewis late of Malpas in the County of Chester Widow who died 24 May 1875 at Malpas was granted at the Principle Registry to Samuel Lewis of Green Lane in the Parish of Bangor Isycoed in the County of Flint Farmer the Son and one of the Next of Kin.
General Notes
The Chester Chronical had a mariage Announcemen on 18 May 1824: "On Wednesday 5th May Mr. Thos. Lewis of Shocklach, to Miss Mullock, of the same place".
In Richard Richards (Yeoman of Hampton) Will and Codicil dated 9 Jan 1858, he retains £63 of Mary Lewis's legacy now owed to him by by her late husband Thomas Lewis (who died in 1858). Mary Lewis nee Mullock (b.1805) was the daughter of Jane Richards, Richard's sister, so he had left money to his nephew.
In 1861, Mary (56, Widow) and her three unmarried sons Richard, Samuel and Robert (35, 24, 21) were running the 66 acre farm at Lane End.
Mary and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on May 5th, 1824 in Shocklach.1 They had three sons and two daughters, named Richard, Samuel, Robert, Elizabeth and Mary. There are no more children.
Samuel was born in 1837 in Shocklach and his baptism took place there on January 15th, 1837.34
