Albert was born in December 1865 in Hanmer.¹

Birth Notes

Albert's father was Samuel Lewis and his mother was Mary Ann Huxley. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Lewis and Mary Mullock. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Samuel, Frederick, Frances, Minnie, Georgina, Margaret, Beatrice, Mary, Jessie and Ruth. He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
