Maria Jane Lawrence 
Maria was born in 1854 in Wolverhampton.1 Maria's father was Philip Hughes Lawrence and her mother was Mary Bennett. Her maternal grandparents were Jonathan Bennett and Mary Jones. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Philip, Thomas, Emily, Amelia, Mary, Lavinia, Leah and Flora. She was the second oldest of the nine children.-
