Elizabeth was born in 1851 in Aspull and her baptism took place on January 15th, 1852 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹²

Birth Notes

Elizabeth's father was John Knowles and her mother was Ann Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Nathan Mather and Alice Makinson. She had two sisters named Alice and Mary. She was the youngest of the three children.
