Alice was born on March 4th, 1849 in Aspull and her baptism took place on April 15th, 1849 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹²

Birth Notes

Alice's father was John Knowles and her mother was Ann Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Nathan Mather and Alice Makinson. She had two sisters named Mary and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 7 in 1856 in Aspull.¹
