Ellen Kay

Ellen was born on October 29th, 1854 in Elton and her baptism took place on December 17th, 1854 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹

Ellen's father was Peter Kay and her mother was Lucy Ward. Her paternal grandparents were James Kay and Betty Moband (tbc). She had two brothers and three sisters, named Alfred, Thomas, Louisa, Alice and Mary. She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 67 in 1921 in Fylde.

- Baptised as daughter of Kay Kay and Betsy. However, marriage shows her father as Peter Kay, a grinder.
  
  Although Ancestry has a dna hint and link, there does not seem to be a family connection of this Ellen Kay and the descendants of Nancy Mather.
  
  18 Apr 1876, Edward Elton married Ellen Kay at Elton, Bury. Alfred and Alice Kay were witness.
