Anne was born in 1805 in Edgworth and her christening took place on August 11th, 1805 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Anne's father was James Kay and her mother was Betty Holt. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Ralph, John, Thomas, James, Sarah and Betty.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
