John was born in June 1904 in Bolton.1  John's father was Albert Edward Jenkins and his mother was Elizabeth Banks.  His maternal grandparents were John Banks and Mary Higson. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Willie, Albert, Thomas, Ethel, Bertha, Mary and Elizabeth.  John and Willie were twins.  He died in June 1904 in Bolton.1
