Mary Hughes

Mary was born in 1866 in Malpas and her baptism took place on May 7th, 1866.¹

Mary's father was Joseph Hughes and her mother was Martha Hopley. Her maternal grandparents were William Hopley and Mary Manley. She had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Sarah. She was the oldest of the three children.

General Notes
- Mary wasn't daft! She looked after her grandfather after his wife had died, and was living there in 1881. As well as the house, there was a market garden and croft that would require looking after.
  
  Mary got £150 from her grandfather William Hopley's Will, and a shard the market garden and croft with her mother (but she was deceased), so she got it all.
