Randle was born in 1760 in Malpas and his baptism took place on June 27th, 1760 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).1  Randle's father was Charles Hopley and his mother was Mary Maddock. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, Karel, Charles, Thomas, John and Margaret.  He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named James and Sarah.
