Mary Hopley

Mary was born in 1802 in Shocklach and her baptism took place there on December 19th, 1802.¹

Mary's father was Charles Hopley and her mother was Mary Poovah. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Catherine Lewis. She had a brother and four sisters, named Samuel, Elizabeth, Ann, Catherine and Emma. She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 35 in September 1837 in Wrexham.²

General Notes
- 11 Feb 1822, did Mary Hopley marry John Foster? Probably not, as the 1851 census has John and Mary (61 & 55) with family, and their daughter Ellen born 1840 does not have MMN = HOPLEY (and the ages are a poor match).
