Sarah Heaton

Sarah was born in July 1838 in Halliwell and her baptism took place on July 29th, 1838 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Sarah's father was Edmund Heaton and her mother was Elizabeth (Betsy) Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph (Joshua) Mather and Mary Thorp. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Hannah and Mary. She was the youngest of the six children.

- In 1841, Sarah (aged 3) was with her mother and siblings at Pilkington Street, Halliwell. Another Sarah Heaton, aged 4, was living with George Slater (58) a bleacher in Sharples. George has a son William (18), Hannah Scholes (51) and two female servants (or perhaps recorded twice).
