Patients' father was Willoughby Hamson and her mother was Beatrice (Beattie) Buckley. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Buckley and Patience (Patricia) Oldham. She had a sister named Ellen. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 72 in 1975.
