Jethro Hamer

Jethro was born in June 1870 in Turton.¹

Jethro's father was Jethro Hamer and his mother was Martha Jane Mather. His maternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Jane Scowcroft. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Walter, Samuel, Edward, Jethro, Sarah, Ada, Alice, Rachel, Florence and Ethel. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 2 in February 1873. His burial was on March 1st, 1873 at All Saints (Elton).²
