John's father was James Grimshaw and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Fletcher.  His paternal grandparents were William Grimshaw and Hannah Hartley. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, Benjamin, Abraham, Phoebe, Ann and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 51 on September 2nd, 1901 in Keighley.

‌John and Dinah were married.  They had a daughter named Mary.  The family line is yet to be completed.
