Alice was born on January 17th, 1876 in North Bierley. Alice's father was Edwin Farnell and her mother was Harriet Ambler. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Farnell and Mary Crosland. She had a brother and six sisters, named Alonzo, Mary, Ambler, Mary, Emma, Edith and Lucy. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 83 on May 16th, 1959.
