Sarah's father was Edmund (Nat) Eddowes and her mother was Sarah McCrink. Her paternal grandparents were John Samuel Eddowes and Ellen Murphy. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Edmund, James, Mary, Eleanor, Elsie, Sarah and Joan. She died at the age of 1 in September 1912 in Birkenhead.²
