John Samuel Eddowes

John was born in March 1861 in Birkenhead.¹

John's father was Edmund (Edwin) Harry Eddowes and his mother was Mary Dawson. His paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Mary Whitfield; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Dawson and Mary Rhodes. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Edmund, Sarah and Lucy. He was the fourth oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 79 in December 1940 in Birkenhead.²

General Notes
- Married Catherine in Liverpool in 1891 and then again in Birkenhead in 1907. On the second mariage, John is a widow so something strange is going on here!
  
  In 1911, John (50) and Catherine (43) were living in Birkenhead with no children.
  
  Do not confuse with the John Eddowes born 1858 in Wrexham who married Elizabeth.
