Rebecca's father was George Eastwood and her mother was Elizabeth Woodhead.  Her maternal grandparents were John Woodhead and Hannah Scover. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, John, George, Jonas, Priscilla, Mary, Hannah and Martha.  She was the oldest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named James.
