George's father was George Eastwood and his mother was Elizabeth Woodhead.  His maternal grandparents were John Woodhead and Hannah Scover. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, John, Jonas, Rebecca, Priscilla, Mary, Hannah and Martha.  He was the third youngest of the nine children. He had a half-brother named James.  He died at the age of 72 in March 1864 in Almondbury.  He was buried on March 3rd, 1864.²
