Mary's father was James Crosland and her mother was Sarah Ellam.  Her paternal grandparents were James Crosland and <Unknown>. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Abraham, Thomas, Joseph, James, Betty, Martha, Martha and Sarah.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at just 24 days old on April 22nd, 1793 in Berry Brow.  She was buried on April 22nd, 1793 in Almondbury.²
