James Crosland

James was born in 1764 in Almondbury and his baptism took place there on March 11th, 1764.¹²

- James was much older that recorded on the 1841 and 1851 census (assuming that Sarah aka Sally was the same daughter). However, this may be a different James (from Butternab) TBC

  1785-1793, James was a Clothier at Berry Brow when Joseph, Betty, Abraham and Mary baptised (and two died).
  
  In 1788, son Abraham was baptised at Longwood, the only son of James to be baptised here. Abraham, son of James, Clothier of Berry Brow died in 1791.
  
  1796-1808 baptism records for James, Martha and Sarah include the mothers maiden name, confirming the 1785 marriage..
  
  In 1841 James (60), a clother was at Berry Brow with Sally Crosland (35) and Joseph (15).
