Martha's father was James Crosland and her mother was Sarah Ellam.  Her paternal grandparents were James Crosland and <Unknown>. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Abraham, Thomas, Joseph, James, Betty, Mary, Martha and Sarah.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at 6 months old in September 1794 in Berry Brow.  She was buried on September 21st, 1794 in Almondbury.¹
