Mary was born in 1813 in Darcy Lever and her baptism took place on April 11th, 1813.¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was William Crook and her mother was Betty Nelson. Her paternal grandparents were William Crook and Alice Aldred. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Andrew, Alexander, James, Johanna, Alice, Elizabeth, Ann and Hannah. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
