James Crook

James was born in 1818 in Darcy Lever and his baptism took place on March 5th, 1818 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

James' father was William Crook and his mother was Betty Nelson. His paternal grandparents were William Crook and Alice Aldred. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Andrew, Alexander, Johanna, Alice, Elizabeth, Ann, Mary and Hannah. He was the nineth oldest of the ten children.

General Notes
- James Married Ann. Not Ann Horrobin in 1842 as that was James son of Peter. Probably Ann Makin at Ainsworth Christ Church (where Happy Mather also married John Barrow in 1842)
  
  In 1851, James and Ann (32 & 38) were living with James's parents William & Betty Crook at Yew Tree, Darcy Lever. They also had three children.
