Elizabeth was born in 1826 in Cowpe.1  Elizabeth's father was Abraham Collins and her mother was Ann Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Edmund Mather and Melicent Ashworth. She had a brother and a sister, named Abraham and Mary.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 23 in November 1849 in Rossendale.  She was buried on November 23rd, 1849 in Newchurch in Rossendale.2
