Alan was born in 1925 in Manchester. Alan's father was John Schofield Carter and his mother was Ida Hinchliffe. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Rhodes Carter and Mary Alice Schofield; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Hinchliffe and Frances Whitehead. He had a sister named Norah. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 87 in 2012.General Notes
Audry Buckley who married Allan Carter are actually second cousins. This may explain the high DNA match.
