Ann's father was Henry Buckley and her mother was Betty Shaw.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Buckley and Mary Lawton. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Benjamin, James, Henry, Ben, Mary, Alice and Priscilla.  She was the third youngest of the nine children.
