Mary was born on April 27th, 1877 in Ludlow and her christening took place there on April 27th, 1877.1 2  Mary's father was Thomas Brown and her mother was Mary Ann Postans.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brown and Mary; her maternal grandparents were William Clement and Ann (Anne) Postans. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Mathew, Arthur, Nell, Elizabeth and Jane. She had an adopted sister named Evelyn.  She died at the age of 87 on May 1st, 1964.2
