Knighton is about 20 miles west of Ludlow, so seems strange he was born here, and then worked as a Farm Labourer around Tunbury, south east of Ludlow. It is more likely he was born in Knighton Upon Teme, Worcester, which is also where he married Martha in 1834.

John may have died between 1851 and 1861. After 1851, all the children split up, and went into service, boarding or married. It's not clear what happened to John. If he stayed in Worcestershire, then the only death before 1861 is in Kidderminster (6c,137), but this isnt him.
An IGI record has his death as 1887 which also confirms his birth in Knighton Upon Tern.

John may have had sisters Elizabeth and Mary who cared for son Thomas in 1861.
Dont confuse with another John Poston who married Martha,
in Orletoin in 1851. Also, another John Poston born in Ludlow in 1803 who moved to London to run a cofee shop.
John and Martha were married in a religious ceremony on May 29th, 1834 in Knighton Upon Teme.2

Rochford is a small vilage about 1 mile east of Tenbury Wells, so this is the more likely place where Ann was born. Tenbury is then the obvious registration district, but there are no Births registered here for Ann. It appears Ann is older, and probably the age given in 1871 is her correct age. Then we find a Church IGI record for ann, christened at Rockford.

An IGI record has Ann's parents and exact date of death. The FreeBMD record gives an approximate age of 76, but Ann did loose about 5 years on her age between the 1871 and 1881 census records, so is clearly the same person.
