Ann (Anne) Postans

Ann, known as Anne, was born in 1836 in Tenbury and her christening took place on December 18th, 1836 in Rochford.¹²

  Rochford is a small vilage about 1 mile east of Tenbury Wells, so this is the more likely place where Ann was born. Tenbury is then the obvious registration district, but there are no Births registered here for Ann. It appears Ann is older, and probably the age given in 1871 is her correct age. Then we find a Church IGI record for ann, christened at Rockford.

Anne's father was John Postans and her mother was Martha Reynolds. Her paternal grandparents were John Leetward and Honor (Honoria) Postans. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Henry, Mary and Jane. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 82 on October 29th, 1918 in Ludlow.²

Death Notes
- An IGI record has Ann's parents and exact date of death. The FreeBMD record gives an approximate age of 76, but Ann did loose about 5 years on her age between the 1871 and 1881 census records, so is clearly the same person.
