Henry was born in 1850 in Tenbury and his christening took place on March 20th, 1850.1 2  Henry's father was John Postans and his mother was Martha Reynolds.  His paternal grandparents were John Leetward and Honor (Honoria) Postans. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Mary, Anne and Jane.  He was the youngest of the seven children.
