Luke's father was Samuel Brook and his mother was Betty Jepson. His paternal grandparents were Job Stocks and Lydia Brook; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan Jepson and Martha Beaumont. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Francis, John, Edward, Ann and Martha. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 79 in November 1930. His burial was on November 21st, 1930.
