Betty's father was Jonathan Jepson and her mother was Martha Beaumont. She had a brother and a sister, named John and Martha. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 80 on March 3rd, 1900 in Southport. Her burial was in March 1880 in Rochdale.²³

- Betty was the daughter of Jonathan Jepson, a clothier and Martha Beaumont (1796 1871). Jabez's parents (Jabez and Martha) were living at 1518 Berry Brow in 1841.
  
  In 1841, Betty was 20 with her parents Johnathan, a woollen weaver, and Martha (both 45) at Berry Brow, Almondbury. She has a younger sister Martha (12).
  
  She married Samuel Brook in 1845.
  
  Samuel (69) was married to Elizabeth (70) in 1891. They were living at 5 Market Street, North Meols with their son John W Brook (33 and married)
