Eric was born in 1908. Eric's father was Arthur Abraham Brereton and his mother was Harriett Hartley. His paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Elizabeth Manley. He had a sister named Dorothy. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 76 in 1984.
