Roy was born on November 28th, 1936 in Devonport.¹ Roy's father was Eric Arthur Brereton and his mother was Forothy Kathleen Bowden. His paternal grandparents were Arthur Abraham Brereton and Harriett Hartley. He had a brother and a sister, named Desmond and Joan. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 21 on July 25th, 1958 in Warwick.²
