Frederick's father was Jonathan Booth and his mother was Eliza Mather. His maternal grandparents were Bold (Bould) Mather and Margaret Taylor. He had a brother and five sisters, named Jonathan, Margaret, Anne, Mary, Eliza and Sarah. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children.

- Frederick was visiting John Mather of Middleton in 1861. Was this an Uncle?
  
  He appears twice on the 1861 census. He's recorded as living at home with his family, but also as a visitor of John and Ann Mather at Manchester Street, Heywood, (near Manchester). There is only one Frederick Booth born in Bolton about 1847, so it must be him!
  
  Living with wife Elizabeth in 1881 at 39 Irving St, Little Bolton, Lancashire.
  
  Frederick may have emigrated to America (New Hampshire) abouyt 1886, and then moved on to Vancouver, BC by 1911.
