Elizabeth was born in February 1784 in Harwood and her baptism took place on February 8th, 1784 at Bradshaw Chapel.1  Elizabeth's father was John Bolton and her mother was Sarah Roscow. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John, <male>, Ann, Sarah, Alice, Dorothy and Alice.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
