Dorothy's father was John Bolton and her mother was Sarah Roscow. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John, <male>, Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah, Alice and Alice.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 80 on June 29th, 1871.

They had a daughter named Sophia.
